Without meaning, there is simply no reason for being. At Telecentre.org Foundation, we are committed to building better lives and smarter communities through information and communication technologies (ICT). This is what fuels our existence, this is the very reason for our being, and this is why meaning matters.

Telecentre.org Foundation supports the establishment and sustainability of grassroots level telecentres — public places of access to the Internet and other digital technologies that help promote personal and social development. These telecentres offer various services, skills and opportunities to people in remote locations around the world. They are also great models for social enterprise.

Our mission is to increase the social and economic impact of ICT in communities around the world by serving as a hub for knowledge sharing and collaboration among telecentre stakeholders, and creating opportunities for individuals and communities through relevant training, content, linkages and services.

Technology alone is meaningless. It is people who give meaning to technology. It is people’s meaningful use of technology that makes a difference. This is what telecentres are all about. And this is why Telecentre.org Foundation exists. We are here to help telecentres succeed. We are committed to bring social innovation to telecentres across the globe. It is our responsibility not only to do good but also to do well.
